Why are my teeth sensitive after a crown procedure?
When drilled on, teeth are traumatized and bruised. It is normal for your teeth to be sensitive for 1-2 weeks after a crown procedure. It is normal to feel cold sensitivity for a short period of time. After a 2 to 3 week period, your teeth will recover and be back to normal. If you are feeling spontaneous throbbing or sharp pain, please call your dentist. Depending on how much work is done to repair the tooth to crown, your tooth may need further procedures such as a root canal or post.
