Emergency Dental / Dentist

1. I have a chipped tooth (front or back tooth) and its really sensitive. What can I do?

The reason for the sensitivity is that you have the dentin(yellow portion of tooth) exposed and that leads to nerve pain. You need to call your dentist to have it evaluated. If a dentist is not available, you can take your favorite headache medicine for pain management. You need to cover the exposed tooth with a temporary dental cement. You can get it at the drug store and it is pictured to the right. Follow directions on box to cover up exposed tooth.

2. My crown and/or filling fell out. What can I do?

You need to call your dentist. If dentist is not available, mix some temporary dental cement pictured to the right and fill the crown and reseat into place.

If it is a filling that fell out, you can put some of the temporary cement into the hole where the filling was. You can also take your favorite headache medicine for pain management.
